The CRS Process For Siding

CRS has an organized, step-by-step process for siding replacement. First, there’s the initial evaluation, followed by siding removal where appropriate. Finally, there’s the professional installation of the new siding. The siding installation also includes housewrap, insulation board, new soffits and other accessories as needed.

How Long Does Siding Installation Take?

Home siding jobs typically take a little longer than CRS roof replacements because of the level of detail required in the work. While new roofs take a day or two, siding removal and replacement take about a week.

Initial Siding Evaluation

Is it best to go over the old siding or to remove it first? You’ll want expert advice before you proceed. There are certain instances when going over the old siding might make more sense either financially or aesthetically.

Siding Removal

Most of the time, the old siding will be torn off down to the sheathing. Removal of the existing siding allows for a full inspection of all exterior wall materials. It is important to ensure that the house has a waterproof or drainable housewrap like HardieWrap. Sheathing must be replaced where necessary. Finally, improve the R-value of your home with insulation board. HardiePlank Lap Siding with Insulation is one example.

Siding Installation

Siding is all done from scaffolds, so it’s important to hire an experienced, licensed and insured siding contractor for safety. CRS’ experienced installers know how to install everything to spec. Proper installation of starter strips, wall flashing and drip caps deliver longevity and water-resistance. The right PVC-reinforced grabber edges, double nailing hems, siding panel projections and panel interlocking systems are also important. There are also J channels installed with the frame-out for doors windows, electrical boxes and other protrusions. Gutters and leaders are usually installed along with the siding.

Had a roof put on by CRS October 2023. The batch of shingles that were installed started to curl from a manufacture defect that nobody was aware of. CRS made good and came and re did the entire roof after I submitted claim paperwork to the manufacture of the shingles. Amanda in the CRS office helped me every step of the way and ensured I would not owe a penny to get it fixed. I’m not sure a smaller business would have ensured I would be made whole after a product defect (which was no fault to CRS at all) and probably would have left me with a major headache. CRS came through for the customer in the end and I can now enjoy a leak and curl free roof!

CRS installed my last roof in 1990 that was replaced in 2013 on one side due to a tornado after 23 years . The other side lasted until 2021 after 31 years ! also damaged by a hurricane so again I had to use homeowners insurance and had that side replaced so technically the roof could have lasted over thirty to 40 years , but the side replaced in 2013 started having problems after 9ish years because I was foolish for not calling CRS so I decided to use CRS again and it looks great . If not for tornadoes their roofing job from the late twentieth century 1990 might still be in place as it was bullet proof . Anything I asked for I had no trouble getting and no pushing sales gimmicks and knew about engineering problems related to my choices as to why they where a bad idea and it made perfect sense . Give them a call ...NOW !

This company is quite frankly the best I have ever worked with .,and I was a contractor myself 40yrs ago . I left my # for a quote late Saturday when they were closed. My call was returned at 8:00 a.m. Monday. It was like that thru the whole job! They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. The crew that did the work were the best craftsmen I have seen in years! They were quick, clean and efficient! The property was spottles every knight when they left ,and when they finished you would be hard pressed to know they were there at all except now I have a BEAUTIFUL house!! I used CRS for repairs on a commercial TPO roof related to leaks from HVAC penetrations (they did not install the roof). They conducted a thorough analysis, provided in-depth reports, and were available (on weekends, nights, and holidays) to answer any questions - all before paying them a single dollar. In vetting multiple roofers, they displayed the most professionalism, arrived at conclusions that were consistent with national, large-scale vendors, and most importantly provided solutions that were both cost-efficient and effective. They worked with me to execute these repairs on an urgent basis and even completed the project ahead of schedule, providing before-and-after pictures of their work (which was executed perfectly). I believe that our roofing project was probably one of the smaller ones that CRS handles (350 sq. ft. roof replacement) but that did not affect the high level of care they gave to this project throughout. Terrible storm on 12/18/23. Large tree branch damaged our roof and pierced our bedroom ceiling. Called Mike Stone at CRS at 6:30 am. The completed the roof repair quickly and conscientiously. They checked the inside part of the roof for any weakened areas as well. The roof repair was due to the fact that the solar panels installed had to be reinstalled due to a roof leak.They were also patient with doing the service. I had CRS replace my roof with a brand new GAF roof. I had GAF for 25 years and wanted to stay with that vendor as the roof held up well for those years. We had a very difficult fall where it rained almost every week, CRS was very smart to follow the weather as they really wanted 3 solid non rain days which finally happened after a few weeks in September. They showed up every day on time and worked until the sun went down. The roof came out beautiful and the neighbors all love it, too. They rebuilt the 3 doghouses over the garage which needed new Hardi-plank and PVC trim molding as it all had rotted over time. That too came out very good, where the team did a very professional well done job. It too came out perfect. My only issue is I only have 1 roof to replace, but I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a new roof. This company is super professional and the install crew were meticulous in detail. What drew me to them was the fact that they do much larger corporate jobs on an ongoing basis. The CRS Crew of around 12 arrived early in the morning and began working quickly and efficiently. At the end of the day our new beautiful roof was installed and there was no evidence that anyone was there! All debris collected and placed in the dumpster. I moved into a new house and had a roof that was installed wrong by the previous owners and about 40 years old. I called and analyzed about 8 companies and Gian Carlo was the quickest to get back to me, easiest to schedule a visit, showed up on time, and gave me an honest and fair estimate of the work I needed and how much it would cost. I trusted him immediately after seeing he wasn't going to take advantage of me like some of the other companies (who were charging anywhere from $7-20K more for the exact same things). When install day came his workers were here first thing in the morning and took care of everything from set up to clean up. They were done ahead of schedule and only took 2 days to complete ( I was quoted 3 and expecting 5). They did such a good job even my neighbors are using them! Gian Carlo was at my house every day to ensure every step was exactly like he told me it would be and we couldn't of been happier to have chosen Complete Roof System and worked with Gian Carlo and his team for our new roof and gutters.

Of all the companies we interviewed to replace our roof shingles, CRS' proposal was the most effective and reassuring. This is in large part due to the knowledgeable and good-natured attitude of their frontman, Giancarlo Reda, who plainly explained the process and also paid visits during the job to supervise.The roofing crew coordinated their tasks like synchronized swimmers on a tight deadline ... focused, precise and polite....like clockwork! They were respectful of our property, used quality materials, brought everything needed with them - including a dumpster, and a magnetic nail collector to catch strays. And they got the job done in record time -- two days. Bonus: they played no loud music while working...an added plus for us since we work from home.What really put it over for us was when we discovered in the eleventh hour that there had been a misstep in the process. CRS corrected themselves and made it right. For this alone, CRS gets a 5-star rating. For us, CRS is the gold standard in roofing replacement. Thank you!

I noticed an issue with the roof of my townhouse and CRS responding very quickly to to repair the roof within 24 hours of notifying them and ahead of severe rain storms. Not only did they respond quickly but also completed the required repair on during the weekend. As a result, I avoided water damage to my townhouse. Our roof was leaking and in need of repair. After calling several roofing companies for estimates, we met with Michael Stone of CRS, who was fast to respond to our call. Michael was knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to talk to. After examining the roof, he explained all of our options. We decided to have the roof replaced since the damage was more extensive than we realized. Michael gave us a very competitive written estimate using top of the line materials.
