We don’t cut corners, we don’t hide costs, and we don’t consider the job finished until it’s perfect. That same standard applies from the very first number we put in front of you.
Most homeowners have no idea how their roofing estimate was calculated. They receive a number, they sign a contract, and they hope for the best. That’s not how CRS operates.
Since 1977, we’ve built our reputation on a simple principle: do the job right the first time. That starts with the estimate. Every line in your estimate corresponds to a specific measurement, material, or condition we found on your roof. You’ll know where every dollar is going before you sign anything.
Here’s something most roofing companies won’t tell you: they’re all using the same software to price your roof. Roofr is the industry standard. Walk into any professional roofing contractor’s office in New Jersey, and there’s a good chance they’re running your numbers through the same platform we use.
However, the software is only half the story. Roofr generates measurements and material quantities based on estimates of your roof’s dimensions from a satellite image. That part is consistent. What happens to those numbers after the software generates them is entirely up to the contractor. Markups get applied. Line items get bundled. Costs get absorbed into a single total, so you can’t see where the money is actually going. The estimate you receive is a finished product, edited and packaged before it ever reaches you.
At CRS, we walk you through the Roofr process. You see the same screen we’re looking at. Then we walk through every adjustment we make on top of that baseline and explain exactly why.
This isn’t common practice. Most contractors treat the estimating process as proprietary, something that happens behind the scenes before they present you with a take-it-or-leave-it price. We’ve never understood that approach. You’re spending thousands of dollars on your home. You should know what you’re paying for.
That’s exactly the kind of standard we want to operate under.
Transparency isn’t a feature we added to our process. It’s been part of how we operate since 1977. You’re making a significant investment in your home. You deserve a roofing partner who treats it that way, one who can explain every number, stand behind every line, and deliver exactly what was promised.
We’ve found that when homeowners understand their estimate, the entire project goes better. Clearer expectations, fewer surprises, and a finished roof that everyone can be proud of. That outcome starts with the very first number we put in front of you.
